Choose Prosperity

Have you ever wondered why things happen, seemingly for no reason?

It may seem like that, but in reality you attract what you want into your life.

With all the hype about the worsening economy, you could quite easily fall into the trap of feeling as though there’s no hope of you ever achieving financial freedom.

But…instead of going along with the status quo, why not be an individual and show that any talk of recession won’t affect you. You do have choices and it’s up to you to choose the right one.

"Every thought-seed sown or allowed to fall into the mind, and to
take root there, produces its own, blossoming sooner or later into
act, and bearing its own fruitage of opportunity and circumstance.
Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bad fruit."
As A Man Thinketh by James Allen

If you want to believe that your financial future is doomed, then it will be. Why not think thoughts of prosperity and attract what you want into your life?

Only you can choose the way you think. Make sure they’re positive thoughts.

Problem Solving

How many times have you caught yourself saying that there could be no other solution to a problem - and that the problem leads to a dead end? How many times have you felt stumped knowing that the problem laid before you is one you cannot solve. No leads. No options. No solutions.

Did it feel like you had exhausted all possible options and yet are still before the mountain - large, unconquerable, and impregnable? When encountering such enormous problems, you may feel like you’re hammering against a steel mountain. The pressure of having to solve such a problem may be overwhelming.

But rejoice! There might be some hope yet!

With some creative problem-solving techniques you may be able to look at your problem in a different light. And that light might just be the end of the tunnel that leads to possible solutions.

First of all, in the light of creative problem-solving, you must be open-minded to the fact that there may be more than just one solution to the problem. And, you must be open to the fact that there may be solutions to problems you thought were unsolvable.

Now, with this optimistic mindset, we can try to be a little bit more creative in solving our problems.

Creative thinking exercises can also help you in your quest to be a more creative problems solver.

Here is one example.

Take a piece of paper and write any word that comes to mind at the centre. Now look at that word then write the first two words that come to your mind. This can go on until you can build a tree of related words. This helps you build analogical skills, and fortify your creative processes.

So, next time you see a problem you think you can not solve, think again. The solution might just be staring you right in the face. All it takes is just a little creative thinking, some planning, and a whole lot of work.

Obesity Is Reaching Epidemic Proportions

I was in an airport over the weekend and the one thing I noticed above everything else, was how many overweight people there were.

It was almost like an epidemic and the biggest shock was how many obese kids there were. But, I have to say, it wasn’t very surprising when I saw these kids tucking into burgers, chips, milkshakes, chocolates and just about everything else that was bad for them. And, the parents were the ones buying the food and drink.

What is wrong with parents today that they let their kids get this way? They have to take responsibility and not blame advertising or the prevalance of junk food. It’s up to them to teach their kids about being healthy and getting enough exercise.

I have 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 16 years to 20 months, and not one of these kids is overweight. Their parents monitor what they eat and they also regulate their exercise. They have all the computer games like X-Box and Wii, but their time on the computer is strictly limited and they are encouraged to participate in outdoor activities.

When I was growing up we were more active as we didn’t have the luxury of computer games and we also didn’t have so much junk food available to us. Our parents were not as affluent as most people are these days, and couldn’t afford to buy junk food anyway. About once a month our treat was fish and chips, and we were happy because we didn’t know any better.

Just think of the medical costs in the years to come when dealing with obesity. It doesn’t just affect the obese person, it affects the whole of society and we’ll be the ones to pay for it in the future.

We have to start educating kids from an early age how to be fit and healthy so that future generations won’t end up facing the same health problems we have today.

Your Thoughts Control Your Actions

The Law of Attraction works in mysterious ways.

It works just as easily on your negative thoughts as it does on your positive ones. This is why you have to monitor your thoughts and not put out any negative vibes.

If you look at the success of some of our top athletes you will find that every waking moment is spent focused on winning. They use visualization to show them the steps to get there. I can’t imagine any of them thinking that they’re not going to win, but come in second place!

I was watching the high jump at the recent Olympic Games in China, and each participant was rehearsing in their mind how they were going to jump over that bar. It was interesting watching their hand movements and the constant talking to themselves. This is a sign of a great athlete who puts their heart and soul into winning.

Those of us who are not athletes, but have a burning desire to win, can learn lessons from the preparations the athletes make. I believe that winning is at least 95% mental preparation and 5% action.

If you have a goal that you want to achieve, don’t bog yourself down with negative thoughts. Use your gift of visualization and see yourself already in possession of your goal. You’re the only one who can make it happen.

Don’t Hope….DECIDE!

"Though I am grateful for the blessings of wealth, it hasn’t changed who I am. My feet are still on the ground. I’m just wearing better shoes". Oprah Winfrey.

Don’t we all go through phases in our lives when we want nothing other than to be wealthy? We don’t want our financial burdens weighing us down anymore.

We can go through with our lives "hoping" that some day we’ll make it and be financially independent for the rest of our lives. But hoping doesn’t get you anywhere until you "decide" you will be wealthy. Once you’ve made your decision, there’s a shift in your consciousness which will awaken your thoughts and ideas as to how you’re going to achieve your wealth. You’ll start attracting people into your life who will help you on your path to success.

Yes, you will have times where you feel you’ll never make it, but it’s at that point you must show perseverance.
"Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up". Thomas A. Edison (1847 - 1931)

Do you think Thomas Edison was just "hoping" he’d invent the first commercially practical incandescent light? I don’t think so. He’d made a decision that he was going to succeed and he never gave up, even though it’s claimed he had over 1,000 failures.

The difference between hoping and deciding is immense. It’s only when you decide to do something that action is taken and success is achieved.

Spring Has Sprung…Time To Get Fit and Healthy!

Now that Spring is here in Australia, it’s time to get fit and healthy for Summer. It’s time to get rid of those few extra kilos put on over Winter and start the Fit Yummy Mummy Program.

We spend our Winter months eating comfort foods like curries and casseroles, so as a result it’s only natural that we put on extra weight. I don’t know about you, but I always feel a bit "stodgy" once Winter is over and can’t wait to eat lots of salads again.

It’s also the time to exercise and tone our bodies up once again. I’m not one for going out much in the Winter to exercise. For a start I don’t like cold weather and I like staying in my bed where it’s cosy and warm! I live in Queensland which has a very temperate climate, but I still feel the cold even though it’s a whole lot warmer than in the south of the country.

Motivating yourself to get out and exercise can be very hard for some people, myself included. I’m either extremely busy or can’t be bothered. Do you know someone like that? With the Fit Yummy Mummy Program, you don’t even have to leave your house. You can sign up for the FREE eCourse by clicking HERE.

If you’re happy with the eCourse and you’d like to purchase the complete program, one of the bonuses is an excellent meal planner, which is full of delicious, nutritious recipes, and will help you shed the kilos.

You can’t be fit and healthy without a diet and exercise program, and the beauty of the Fit Yummy Mummy Program is that it can all be done in your own home. Just think, no more gym fees and you get to eat delicious, nutritious meals everyday.

Teenagers and Depression

September 4, 2008 by Susan Denny

Teenagers can feel depressed for all sorts of reasons and their moods can vary, from feeling a bit blue to feeling overwhelming sadness and hopelessness.

  • Around 20 per cent of teenagers experience depressive moods, but clinically significant depression in young people is often not recognized.
  • Stresses that sound small to adults may be very important to teenagers and should be taken seriously.
  • When teenagers are suffering with depression, they aren’t always able to ask for help and may even refuse your help at times.
  • If your child won’t go for help and you are worried, go by yourself to get advice on how to best handle the situation.

Don’t try to tell your teenager that they’ll be alright, or they’ll get over it, as sometimes this can make the situation a lot worse than it is. Issues that you think are irrelevant may be of immense importance to your teenager, so listen sympathetically if they want to talk about it. Don’t criticize or condemn, as this can have a disastrous effect on their mood.

There is a range of different treatments available for depression, including counseling and therapies. Antidepressant medications should be given with caution for young teenagers because of possible side effects. The right treatment depends on the individual needs and the situation of the teenager. It is important to persist until the right treatment is found, as young people are often particular about whom they will talk to.

My new ebook, "Conquering Anxiety and Depression: Learn How To Rebuild Your Self Confidence", tells of my experience dealing with depression and what I did to overcome it.

As a parent you need to look for the signs and find the proper treatment so that your teenager can live a normal life again.

What Will Your Final Wish Be?

If you accumulated a substantial amount of wealth before you died, what would you want done with it once you’re gone?

There was a man who had worked all of his life and had saved all of his money. He was a real miser when it came to his money. He loved money more than just about anything, and just before he died, he said to his wife, "Now listen, when I die, I want you to take all my money and place it in the casket with me. I want to take my money to the afterlife."

So he got his wife to promise him with all her heart that when he died, she would put all the money in the casket with him.

Well, one day he died. He was stretched out in the casket, the wife was sitting there in black next to her closest friend. When they finished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said "Wait just a minute!" she had a shoe box with her, she came over with the box and placed it in the casket.

Then the undertakers locked the casket down and rolled it away.

Her friend said, "I hope you weren’t crazy enough to put all that money in the casket."

She said, "Yes, I promised. I’m a good christian, I can’t lie. I promised him that I was going to put that money in that casket with him."

"You mean to tell me you put every cent of his money in the casket with him?"

"I sure did," said the wife. "I got it all together, put it into my account and I wrote him a check!"

Now I don’t think I’d go that far, but it does make you think about the disposal of your assets once you die. That is why it’s so important to have a will, especially if you are quite wealthy. It’s much easier to disperse your wealth accordingly if you have a plan set up.

Most families don’t have any problems after the death of a loved one, but, in the absence of a will, it’s more than likely that your family will squabble about their rights to your inheritance.

It would be a shame to put a blight on your memory just because you didn’t have a will. Do it now! Even if you’re in your early 20’s, you do need a will, and it is much more urgent if you are a young entrepreneur who’s going places.

Is The Law of Attraction Working For You?

Have you been struggling to get the Law of Attraction to work for you? Do you feel like you must have some severe inner blockages that prevent you from attracting the things you really want into your life?

You may have the temptation to view the Law of Attraction as some kind of mystical power greater than yourself. You may often feel like you’re "begging" the universe to deliver your desires.

The Law of Attraction works according to your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and expectations! If you’re not yet living the life you want, you’re probably not putting out the right signals.

Think about what you really want, and not what you think you can get or willing to settle for - but what YOU want! If you could create anything at all right now, what would it be? Write it down in minute detail and let the Law of Attraction work for you.

Then, begin focusing on it as often as you can - FROM the perspective of already having it. How would you feel if you already had exactly what you wanted? You might feel calm, content, happy, joyful, grateful, blessed, excited, or relieved. Several times a day, experience those feelings as though you already had it and get your positive emotions flowing.

Learn how to detach emotionally from problems, upheavals and difficult people, as they can take away your focus. In essence, try ignoring them as much as you can. It will take practice, but eventually you’ll be able to consciously CHOOSE where to flow your energy - toward the good stuff!

Once you have your mindset right, miracles and opportunities will come flowing into your life and you’ll finally realize that YOU held the power all along. YOU are the Law of Attraction! You have an inner power that will work with you providing you take the necessary steps to achieve your goal.

Overcome Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Is your mental health preventing you from achieving your dreams and aspirations?

I used to suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks, and they did stop me from doing a whole lot of things. All I could think about was my fear! It was so bad that I became Agoraphobic and was too scared to leave my house. I couldn’t even walk to my letter box without having an attack. It was no way to live.

If you’ve never experienced a panic attack before then check the list below to see if you suffer from any or all of these symptoms.

  • Tightness in throat and chest- shortness of breath
  • Feel as though your heart is racing and will jump out of your chest
  • Hot flushes all over your body followed by waves of anxiety
  • Feelings of fear and negative thoughts
  • Not feeling connected to what is going on around you
  • Overwhelming fear that the anxiety will push you over the edge

The first time a person experiences a panic attack it can feel like their world is falling down around them. Nowhere feels safe as the anxiety becomes like a stalker lurking in the background.

When this happens people begin to either avoid situations that make them anxious or they medicate themselves to the point where they are numb to the fear. I am sure you will agree neither of the above is a satisfactory solution.

There are new ways to treat this disorder and I have tried quite a few. Some successful and some not. I have found that the only way to overcome the anxiety and panic attacks is to use a technique which immediately stops you fearing another panic attack. It is very simple yet amazingly effective, without the use of medication.

To find out how this technique will work for you click HERE now!
