Time Management Can Lead To Success

Have you ever heard the saying, “Time is your biggest enemy?” Well I sure have and it applies to so many situations.
When I was still working for a technology corporation, my whole day revolved around time. I had to be at work on time so that I could call the US if I needed answers to my questions. Being on a different time zone certainly had it’s problems, so it was imperative that I start work early.
Because I did all the ordering for Australia, I had to allocate my time to different areas so that everything would be completed by the end of the day. On most days I would end up taking work home with me because I simply ran out of time at work.
A lot of my work colleagues would praise me for my work ethic and for the fact that I was always available to answer their questions. I was by far the busiest person in the company because of the responsibilities I had to keep the ordering system flowing smoothly. I was also one of the lowest paid because of the way the American corporation was set up.
My problem was, that even though everything I did ran smoothly and clients and colleagues were very happy with my work, I never did feel as though I was a success. I always felt as though I was lacking in skills and was only there because of luck.
You could say that I was lacking in self confidence, and I was. When I think back over the 7 years I worked for the company, I can see that my role there was pivotal in keeping the Australian operation going. Without my knowledge and the skills I’d learned in dealing with clients, everything I did would have to be set up in the US, which would mean that the clients would have to wait for days to get answers to their questions.
Before I finally left, I was working 7 days and nights a week and it was starting to affect my health. I gave a month’s notice and in that time I had to train 2 people to do my job! Needless to say they didn’t last 6 months, because they could see the volume of work they had to do and the amount of time they’d have to spend doing it.
I’ve since learned that everything I used to do is now being handled in the US.
Do you think I feel as though I was a success at my job? I do now and I feel proud that my efforts kept the company in Australia running. It’s too bad that it’s all done remotely now.
How The Rich Get Richer And The Poor Get Poorer

Robert Kiyosaki made an insightful quote in an article I was recently reading and it made me think about advice I’d received in the past.
He said, “Your greatest asset for financial success is your brain, so be sure to protect it from poor advice. At this time of financial crisis, people should be seeking good, relevant advice.”
How right he is. I’ve been given advice in the past from so-called experts, about my financial situation, and they were struggling to pay their own bills! Why would I want to take advice from someone who’s broke?
To create wealth you have to have the right mindset and you won’t get that listening to people who have not already achieved their own wealth.
You have to change your way of thinking and set goals for yourself. If you think that money is bad then you will be poor. You have to think of yourself as being rich already so that your energy changes and your mind is set up to receive an abundance.
Educate yourself about the principles of thinking big. Seek out the knowledge you need, educate yourself, ask questions of people who are already successful, and copy what they do so that you can be successful too.
The poor will always stay poor unless or until they change their way of thinking. The difference between being rich or being poor comes down to one simple saying:
“Rich is not having more money. Rich is knowing the secret to getting everything you want in life.”
What Will Be Your Legacy At The Time Of Your Death?

This may sound like a very morbid subject, but it makes you think about what you have achieved and who you have touched just by being alive.
My reason for writing about this topic was because I was just talking to a very good friend of mine who’s just lost her sister. Her sister had battled breast cancer for many years but it finally got her.
Her sister was a very vibrant woman who lit up a room as soon as she walked in. She was also quite “mad” in a very uplifting way. If you were feeling a bit down you’d only have to spend a few minutes with her before she had you laughing your head off.
My friend found out at her sister’s funeral how well loved she was. The church was absolutely packed and at least a dozen people got up to tell the story of her life and how she had affected them. Apparently each person who stood up told a funny story about her and about how much she was going to be missed.
Even though she was in so much pain and struggling on a daily basis, she still knew how to make people laugh. Unfortunately there aren’t enough people around like her to spread joy and happiness.
My friend has found comfort in the fact that her sister was so well regarded, and came home from her funeral feeling a sense of peace and joy as she looks back at her sister’s incredible life and the people she had touched.
I’d like to think that when the end of my life comes, I can look back and say that I inspired people to laugh and to find the joy in their lives. Let’s face it, there’s enough misery and doom and gloom out there to keep the pessimists going for years!
Holistic Health May Be What You’re Searching For

My husband has been suffering with a very debilitating respiratory condition, and up to this point he has spent hundreds of dollars on “traditional” medical treatments which have not worked. Each time he goes back to his specialist he’s given a new drug to try, just like a guinea pig, to see which one works…the thing is they haven’t!
His condition was worsening, when we found a holistic practitioner who is getting to the root cause of his problem, and he is showing signs of recovery already and it’s only been a couple of months. We’ve always been open-minded about alternative treatments so we were not surprised to see his condition improving.
If you don’t understand what holistic health is all about then read the following information I’ve found on it.
Holistic health is not itself a method of treatment, but is an approach to how treatment should be applied. Holistic concepts of health and fitness view achieving and maintaining good health as requiring more than just taking care of the various singular components that make up the physical body, additionally incorporating aspects such as emotional and spiritual well-being.
The goal is a wellness that encompasses the entire person, rather than just the lack of physical pain or disease. This means that not feeling sick, does not necessarily mean you are well, just that you are between Well and Sick. When symptoms develop, it is often long after the cause of the symptoms occurred. It is often used in contrast to the medical model that focuses on treating symptoms and syndromes without attempting to address functioning beyond the absence of disease. The Holistic approach focuses on the cause.
The holistic process offers individuals the opportunity to be the creators of their own reality of health, through an understanding of all levels of health and a balanced lifestyle.
All we want and need is to be healthy to enjoy every minute of our lives. If you aren’t getting the help you need from the medical fraternity, maybe you should look at the alternatives.
Should You Update Your Goals On A Regular Basis?

My answer to that is a definite "yes".
Circumstances can change from when you set the goal to the present moment. I believe in constantly "tweaking" my goals, so that my image of what I want becomes clearer and clearer.
I know of some people who rewrite their goals everyday, but it’s really up to you if you need to do that.
The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.
Denis Waitley
Writing down your goals is the best way to embed them into your subconscious mind, so that each time you do it, it becomes more and more fixed. After a while you can almost repeat what you’ve written down, which is a good indication that it is set in your mind.
Remember that life changes constantly and so do your goals. Keep updating so that they don’t become stale.
Is Your Lack of Self Confidence Holding You Back?

Have you ever lacked the self confidence to take on an enormous challenge because you didn’t think you had the ability to see it through? I’m sure that the majority of the population has experienced this at some point in their lives.
Tom Hanks has declared he no longer feels insecure about his acting.
Hanks - who has won best actor Oscars for Philadelphia and Forrest Gump - admitted to the Radio Times that he initially took any job he was offered, causing a lack of confidence.
He said: "Early on I took any job that was offered, milking it for the money."
He continued: "I had no idea what I was doing - that’s when insecurity and self-loathing start. Essentially I’m a mountain climber saying to myself ‘See that peak? No-one else has gone up there, and I know how to’."
How hard is it to step out and just do it? It takes a lot of courage and self confidence to get you there.
If you’re lacking in confidence then you need to seek out people who can help you and educate yourself on how to change your attitude.
Once you make the mental shift, your whole life will change.
Being Overweight Can Be Embarrassing!

If you need motivation to lose weight then read this story.
An overweight woman got stuck in the bath for five hours until she was freed by firemen.
Rosemarie Batey, 49, who weights 140kg, promised to lose weight after the embarrassing incident at her home in County Durham, England. She needed hospital treatment for cuts.
The grandmother of three was taking a midnight shower.
“There has been a crack in the bath since I moved in last year, so I only use the shower above it. But the crack had been getting bigger and bigger," Rosemarie told the Durham Evening Chronicle newspaper in the UK .
“I was standing under the shower and I had my left foot up to wash it when I heard a great big crack and away I went. I started falling and then slipped on all the shower cream. It all happened so quick, but I managed to turn the shower off as I fell.
“My legs went from underneath me. My back was wedged against the wall and I was stuck.”
Her 23-year-old son Stuart was asleep in bed and did not hear her cries for help until the morning, when he dialled emergency services.
Firefighters used an electronic saw to cut away the bath with Rosemarie holding a shower curtain to spare her blushes and to keep her warm.
“It’s been a wake-up call to get some beef off," she told the local newspaper.
That’s an understatement! If you’re having trouble losing weight and don’t like going to gyms, try the Fit Yummy Mummy Program you can do within the confines of your home.

Are You In Control?

When I think back on my life, I can see that a part of me was always giving away my time to others, and in a lot of cases it was a complete waste of time.
I’d go out of my way to please people by doing odd jobs here and there and not once did I have the heart to say "no". I was trading my valuable time for the reward of having that person like me. It all added to my feelings of inadequacy.
Bill Cosby once said: "I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody".
I didn’t understand those words until I was well into my 30’s when I realised that I was being taken advantage of. Everyone knew that I’d always answer "yes" if I was asked to do something. Once I realised what was happening I decided that I would, in the future only do things that I wanted to do.
It’s amazing what happens when you start saying "no". Some people you thought were friends were suddenly nowhere to be found. Talk about feeling used! I soon found out who my real friends were.
Think about it the next time you are asked to do a task for someone. Are you willing to give up your time for someone else? What will you get out of it? Are you being taken advantage of?
When you can answer these questions honestly, you are in the process of controlling your own life.

Desire And Expectation

An elderly, wealthy gentleman being interviewed by a newspaper reporter was asked at what point he became successful. His answer was, "I was successful when I was sleeping on a park bench because I knew where I was, and I knew where I was going".
To create the wealth you desire you must guard your mind constantly against doubt, because it is a negative vibration, and you are creating images of the things you don’t want.
If you’re wanting to own a brand new luxury car, the last thing you want to think about is how you’re going to afford it! I can assure you, you’ll find plenty of answers.
If you become aware that your thoughts are creating doubt, quieten yourself, start relaxing, and start picturing yourself already in possession of that brand new car.
When you do this you are altering the mental current flowing into your subconscious mind.
There are 3 basic steps to achieving prosperity in every aspect of your life.
- Build the image of what you want in your mind
- Turn it over to the Universe, God, Spirit (whatever you like to call it) and have FAITH that you will receive it. Desire without expectation is nothing more than wishful thinking
- Expect to receive it with all your heart and soul
What are you doing to create your wealth?
